The Future of Xbox
With the Consumer Electronic show going on, I thought it was fitting to post a video of the piece of technology that I’m most excited to see in action. Check out Xbox’s Project Natal.

It's Time To Re-Up
Well it’s been a struggle to maintain, web pages and twitter accounts, facebook pages and blogs so in the end I had to make a choice of what to shelf and it ended up being 24/7 Life. However over the last week or so I’ve really felt compelled to pick it back up again.
Has anything changed in terms of what I have manage on the interweb, no. But, I feel like I have a lot to say and a great deal of inspiration so lets give the ol’girl a go. Perhaps I can rekindle the passion for blogging that I had last year.
I say this all to segue into a series of new post.
So…let’s begin.

"Where Faith And Life Intersect"
I just got done launching a blog for The Crossing. It’s going to be a place for ministry leaders to share what God has been doing in their hearts as a result of The Crossing, as well as for them to give thoughts or insights into the young adult culture. It’s going to be a fun site to keep up on.

Need A Little Spice
To be completely honest, I’ve become a little bored…
I started this blog back in January and over the last 9 months it’s been a lot of fun to set out before myself and ultimately the rest of the world, my thoughts, feelings, etc. Yet over the last few months I become bored with the blog. I need to spice it up. I’m not really sure what that means, but something needs to change.
Maybe this comes from my new start as young adult pastor. Maybe it’s just the fact that I’ve been staring at the same template for the last 9 months. Whatever the case is, I need to spice things up a tad.
hmm… what could I do…

Spark
The last week and a half have been crazy in terms of our computer situation at New Life. The servers have been replaced, computers have been backed up, people have been unable to log-on, it’s been a challenging finding files, etc…
Yesterday however I finally was able to get back on my machine and I was able to play around with a new program loaded onto all of our computers called “spark.” Essentially it’s an instant messaging program that we can use internally.
Let me just say, I love it! It’s a free program and it’s going to save so much time AND space in my inbox.
If your office could use something like this, I highly recommend you check it out!

To Twitter Or Not To Twitter, That Is The Question.
I took D.A.R.E. courses several times throughout my adolescent years and I learned to “just say no.” I learned to say no to drugs, and I learned to say no to peer pressure; even “friendly peer pressure.” But what my D.A.R.E officer failed to tell me is what to do when pressured to “twitter.”
Now this isn’t direct peer pressure. It’s not someone threatening to take my lunch money if I don’t inform them via 140 word messages that I am at lunch eating a PB&J sandwich. I’m sure the pressure being delivered isn’t even intentional.
Nonetheless, as I dive deeper into this whole blogging community and I observe the ways of the hardcore blogger I am tempted to “twitter.”
Yikes…Mr. Officer… you didn’t tell me how to handle this sort of pressure.
…To Twitter or not to Twitter, that is the question.

Using Technology To Stimulate Dialogue
It’s interesting how challenging it can be to get people to buy into new technologies. I have been using my blog over the last couple months to not only journal my thoughts, but also create a place where parents and leaders can come and recieve insight into who I am as a leader and more generally speaking, a person. I have also used this site to provide resources on parenting and leading.
The thing that I have been finding is that it’s much more challenging to get people to buy into new forms of technology (specifically blogging) than I thought.
For whatever reason the dialogue hasn’t begun like I had hoped it would. I don’t like admitting that, but that is reality. It honestly is disappointing because I believe having a space to share thoughts and insights into life and ministry is valuable. I believe leaders and parents alike could benefit from having a place where they can recieve knowledge and share with each other the knowledge they already have.
I definitely will continue to platform this means of communication and I hope that in the weeks to come there will be an out pouring of people who have decided to give communication via blog comments a try.
Here’s to open dialogue and the advancement of technology!
