Your Love Never Fails
On Sunday at New Life we sang the song, “Your Love Never Fails” and it’s one of the few songs that I am continually encouraged by every time I hear it. For that reason I thought I’d post a video of the song being performed by Jesus Culture, the group that produced the song. Enjoy and be encouraged.

Roman Holiday – "I Think It's Her"
Thought I’d give a little love on Christmas Eve to a local band that’s doing some great things. Check out Roman Holiday and their song, “I Think It’s Her.”

Sloppy Wet Kiss
I’ve been listening to the song How He Loves Us all day. Powerful song. It’s one of those songs where you start air drumming so hard that you break your air drum sticks on the side of your air snare because you’re just going nuts.
It’s a pretty deep and fairly “wordy” song as well. Definitely not a song full of fluff. However, in the second verse there is a line that at first listen sounds kind of ridiculous.
The line is this… “So Heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss…”
Awkward…(my friend Rita would probably say “awkward turtle” and move her hands in a turtle motion)
Anyway, the first time you hear the line you’re kind of turned off by it. But at least for me, the more I hear it the more deeply it resonates with me.
It’s the type of line that is just so raw and messy, but the type of line that conjures up beautiful images of a father swooping down to pick up his child and plant the biggest wettest, most loving kiss on their cheek.
As big and powerful as God is, He’s also that loving and compassionate and willing to swoop down and plant a “sloppy wet kiss” on his children.
Incredible.
Here are the lyrics to the song as well as some links to various renditions of the song.
Verse 1:
He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.
Pre-Chorus:
And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all
Chorus 1:
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.
Verse 2:
We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…
Chorus 2:
He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.
Verse 3:
Well, I thought about You the day Stephen died,
And You met me between my breaking.
I know that I still love You, God, despite the agony.
…They want to tell me You’re cruel,
But if Stephen could sing, he’d say it’s not true, cause…
Chorus 3:
Cause He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us.
Whoa! how He loves us.
Whoa! how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.

A More Beautiful You
We’re starting a series this Sunday at New Life called, “Taken” and it is all about how Satan will do whatever he can to steal kids away from the truth and how we need to fight to take them back
I heard this song the other day as I was driving and so I “Shazamed” it with my phone and it might end up being a closing song for one of the three weeks.
It’s a powerful song that talks about the lies Satan tells girls in regards to their worth being found in their physical appearance.

Pat Boone
I had an incredible day yesterday with my wife, drinking coffee, strolling through parks, soaking up the sunshine, buying white Pat Boone shoes…
Yes, indeed. I ventured into the risky realm of white shoes yesterday. I’m not talking tennis shoes or chucks or anything along those lines. I’m talking white loafers.
Here’s to you Pat Boone!

Your Love Never Fails
I feel like a salesman today promoting products but I just came across a great CD that I wanted to pass along, it’s called “Your Love Never Fails.”

This is a great worship CD that I found on jesusculture.org. You can either purchase it on the website or on itunes. Just simply some solid worship music.
You can never have too much.
What type of music can you not get enough of?
