Urgent Care (Part 2) With A Side Of ER
Early last week I posted about how I had to visit urgent care for some stomach and chest pain/discomfort that ended up being diagnosed at acid reflux. Well…a couple days later (Wednesday) I ended up having to go back. In fact not only did I go to urgent care but I ended up in the ER. Fun times.
Part 2 of my urgent care saga began when I was in a meeting for work and I began to feel lightheaded and my left arm began to feel weak and tingly. Now, tightness in my check I felt like I could put off for a little while but I figured these symptoms were pretty serious and so I headed back over to urgent care where the doctors did an EKG which lead them to conclude that I needed to go to the ER for some type of blood enzyme test.
So, after waiting at urgent care hooked up to oxygen, Monika picked me up and took me to the ER (it was either that or a costly ride in an ambulance). Once at the hospital and in my incredibly sexy hospital gown I saw a wonderful doctor who told me that urgent care was just being extra cautious by sending me over for the blood test which she said wouldn’t tell her anything she needed to know. Instead after asking me a variety of questions she reconfirmed what the original doctor said and added that stress can make acid reflux worse, even to the point of mimicking heart attack symptoms!
Nevertheless she wanted to run another EKG which came back without any real concerns.
So now I am taking Prilosec OTC religiously for several weeks hoping that it will help alleviate the problem and I have to say that after about 10 days of taking it, I am feeling much better.
Just thought I’d keep you up to speed on my medical adventures…

I am so glad that it was nothing serious! Still praying for you!
David, I can only imagine you got some pretty funny looks from hospital staff walking in with a very pregnant monika and saying that you were the one in need of care. Glad everything is ok!!
When we got into the elevator at the ER there were people coming off and they said, “two going in, three coming out.” lol
Dude, this is why you need to blog more often. So your friends know what’s going on. Glad it’s just stress, but sorry for the ER visit.
Get some rest. Will be praying for you.
