A Year Later
It is hard to believe that it’s been a year since the earthquake in Haiti…it seems so long ago.
When the earthquake happened I was volunteering in World Vision’s social media department and watched the organization rally around helping those who were impacted by this devastating tragedy…day after day and week after week. The efforts were amazing.
And then last summer I had the opportunity to go to Haiti with Monika as a part of a team doing relief work.
It was an incredible experience. Life changing.
Now that we are a year removed from the earthquake itself, it is astonishing to hear about how much is still left to do. The news reports are discouraging and the photos of rubble strewn streets still break my heart.
Since just this week we passed the one year anniversary of this devestating tragedy I have reflected on some of the thoughts I had about the event, when it happened and when I visited Haiti during the summer.
